About Pakistan

Pakistan is the only country to have been created in the name of Islam As a result of the Pakistan Movement led by Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the subcontinent’s struggle for independence, Pakistan was created in 1947 as an independent homeland for Indian Muslims. It is an ethnically and linguistically diverse country, with a similarly diverse geography and wildlife. Initially, a dominion, Pakistan adopted a constitution in 1956,
becoming an Islamic republic.

Hutchison Ports KICT is Pakistan’s leading container terminal. Located in the Port of Karachi, west of the Indus Delta on the Arabian Sea,  Hutchison Ports KICT has been in operation since 1998.  It has three berths equipped with modern container-handling facilities.


Pakistan International Container Terminal also is known as PICT is a modern container terminal operating at berths 6 to 9 in the East Wharf, Karachi Port. It is the first port infrastructure project in Pakistan financed by International Finance Corporation.


SAPT (Hutchison Ports Pakistan) is the deepest, highly equipped and a modern port in Karachi spread over 85 Ha. Currently 33 RTGs in operation and
total 52 in the plan, it is one of the largest port in the country with Capacity of 3.1 m/annum TUEs.


Pakistan is a member of several international organizations such as ECO (Economic Cooperation Organization), SAFTA (South Asian Free Trade Area) WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) and WTO (World Trade Organization).
